Universal Pictures announced today that it will be donating ” a percentage of proceeds” from the upcoming home entertainment release of “Fast & Furious 6” to Paul Walker’s non-profit Reach Out WorldWide. Walker and his friend/fellow racing enthusiast, Roger Rodas, were killed in a fiery crash last Saturday afternoon in Valencia. The 2005 Porsche Carrera GT they were riding in, apparently struck trees and then a pole, before exploding into flames. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the accident — but investigators are still trying to determine exactly how it happened.
Today, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office completed autopsies on the victims– but the results have not been released. The “Fast &Furious” actor was working on the latest installment of the popular movie series. In the wake of Walker’s death, producers and director, James Wan, are considering scrapping the film and starting over, according to The Wrap. More than half of “Fast & Furious 7” has been shot — but key scenes with Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, have not been done.
Tributes to the late actor are pouring in. His family has asked that in lieu of flowers and gifts, donations be made to Walker’s ROWW charity.
